Stefan Shakiba\u2019s blend of experience in sports and as a Licensed Psychotherapist are unique in today\u2019s field of sports psychology. His integration of the latest tools and strategies to maximize mental soundness on the field are supported by the latest science and research available to date. Stefan is trained in 9 different evidence- based clinical treatment models, having spent years treating severe trauma among underserved and underrepresented families in South Central Los Angeles. By refining many of these tools in his work with athletes to specifically address on-field performance, in conjunction with creating dozens of additional new tools, athletes benefit by becoming the experts on themselves so they may quickly thrive independently and with confidence on the field. All of this is accomplished in an emotionally safe, confidential, and supportive environment to ensure Stefan and athletes maintain mutual trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stefan\u2019s clients include athletes in Major League Baseball, the National Football League, Major League Soccer, Professional Tennis, Olympic Sports, and collegiate athletics. Prior to becoming a licensed clinician Stefan spent nearly three decades as an athlete. He was a ranked tennis player in Northern California, competed for traveling teams in soccer and football, and played baseball for over two decades. Additionally, his work experience in sports includes coaching high school tennis, conducting research for sports agents Steinberg Moorad and Dunn, and serving as the Director of Baseball Operations at the University of California, Berkeley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stefan earned his Bachelors degree from the University of California – Berkeley, and holds Masters degrees from the University of San Francisco (Sports Management) and Pepperdine University (Clinical Psychology). He currently resides in Pasadena, California, where he continues to work both as a SPET coach and as a licensed therapist.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
